Gerson Y. Bravo is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. With a background in ministry and mental health, Gerson brings both compassion and practical, evidence-based tools to his work helping people build healthier coping skills and stronger relationships. For this CARES session, Gerson will speak on “When Family Members Self-Medicate from Chronic Pain,” exploring how chronic physical and emotional pain can lead to substance use and how families can respond with greater understanding, healthy boundaries, and supportive care, a conversation that closely aligns with CARES’ mission to equip families with education, healing, and hope.
